In “The Castle” Franz Kafka tells the story of K., a wandering surveyor lost in a land governed by a mysterious, yet ever present bureaucratic force. K. spends his days, his nights, and all of his energy searching passionately for his purpose in this land. His journey demands of him a delicate balance between describing his situation and prescribing a solution – a quintessential allegory for the human condition.
So who is K.?
K. is you – the reader of this blog.
K. is me – a 20 something male from Bloomington, IN. A jack of several trades, (Husband, Youth Counselor, Radio Station DJ, Musician, Quaker, Catholic Worker, Baseball Coach), and a master of none.
In this blog I will endeavor to follow in the footsteps of K. The Surveyor – searching for purpose, describing my thoughts, and working towards prescribing a solution. I hope you will join me.

Rob
nice letter. I saw it in print yesterday, and didn’t realize it was drawing so much flak online. There are some later counter letters though, and I just contributed one.
